Flora loves the simplicity and boldness of Marimekko's designs. In a very different style, she greatly admires the work of Takehisa Yumeji, a Japanese painter who captures emotions in his depiction of Japanese ladies, flowers and animals.

Flora's talent is internationally recognised, her illustrations are used in books, magazines, children's fashion and card making. Of Anglo-Japanese origin, Flora has been living in New Zealand for over 7 years. From her childhood, she particularly remembers the years spent in Japan. A culture that has had a profound influence on her personality. Over the years, she has given her preference to the beautiful profession of illustrator and cultivates it with love every day. Even as a child, Flora remembers that she loved to invent imaginary worlds populated by small, charming characters. With her pencil, her dreams have become reality.
